3.4 QUALIFYING SYSTEM

3.4.a In each round, drivers will score points based on the laps and times achieved. Themaximum number of points awarded to the best driver will be equal to the totalnumber of participants plus 5 (five).Fastest in each round will score: number of participants, +5 points.2nd fastest will score: points of fastest driver, -2 points.3rd fastest will score: points of 2nd fastest driver, -1 point.Down to last position one by one.

3.4.b In every round, in case of a tie, the points will be equally awarded to each driver, andthe first driver not to tie, will receive one point less per tie.For example, with 150 drivers racing, maximum number of points is 155.1st driver will score 155 points2nd driver will score 153 points3rd driver will score 152 points4th driver will score 151 points5th driver 7 laps, 10:01:00 will score 150 points TIE6th driver 7 laps, 10:01:00 will score 150 points TIE7th driver 7 laps, 10:01:00 will score 150 points TIE8th driver 7 laps, 10:10:00 will score 147 points

3.4.c. In a case of two or more drivers having the same point score, the next best point scoredetermines position. If still unable to resolve with the next best rounds, then the driverwith the fastest laps and times in his best score will determine position.

3.4.d. Out of six (6) rounds, four (4) will be added to account for the classification’s ranking.

3.4.e. One hundred and fifty drivers (150) will be entitled to a sub-final.

3.4.f. If a driver does not start a heat, he receives no points.

2006 Singapore Marine Parade RCMC Invitational Challenge 1

1/8th GAS POWERED BUGGY OPEN RACE & AN ALL TRUCK FUN RACE

It gives me great pleasure to invite and welcome all of you to our 2006 Singapore Marine Parade RCMC Invitational Challenge 1; for 1/8th scale gas powered open buggy race & an All Truck Fun Race. On behalf of every member of the management committee of the Marine Parade Radio Control Modelers Club, we would like to extend our thanks to your support and participation.
Running track pattern shall only be ready by 9th April

RULES & REGULATION:

We are trying to keep it simple, so for 1/8th gas buggy;
1) Open to All 1/8th Scale, .21 Size Engine, Nitro Powered Buggy.
2) Fuel Tank shall be 125cc maximum.
3) A minimum weight of 3.2kg.
4) Christmas Tree Finals

For All Truck FUN Race;
1) No rules, all truck/truggies/etc.
2) Minimum entries needed is 10, maximum is 20.
3) A & B Main Finals

TROPICAL WEATHER:
Special note for Invited Guests; Singapore is a tropical country, we cannot control the weather, therefore we need to accommodate the weather. Each full round of Heats shall be run under similar conditions on a best effort basis. Mains shall continue to run unless there is a thunderstorm. The track facility is located within a lightning safe zone, provided by the location of the lightning arrestors in the adjacent main building. However, we shall take additional precautions to avoid racing under a thunderstorm. Drivers are advice to water proof their electronics appropriately.

PROPOSED TIMETABLE:
Before 22nd April 2006 – Uncontrolled Practice.
Invited drivers please take note, this facility is privately owned and operated, and therefore, there is a SGD $8 per day charge per driver, at your own expense.

22nd April 2006
8:00 am Radio Impound.
8:30 am Driver Briefing / Welcome / Photo Shoot.
9:00 am Round 1 Heats x 10 minutes.We shall try to run the whole round under the similar conditions on a best effort basis. *Heats 5 & 10 shall be reserved for the All Trucks Fun Race.
11:30 pm Round 2 Heats x 10 minutes.
2:00 pm Round 3 Heats x 10 minutes.
4:30 pm Track is closed for the day.

23rd April 2006
8:00 am Radio Impound.
8:30 am Round 4 Heats x 10 minutes.
11:00 am Sorting of Mains / Break
We aim to take the best 3 of 4 heats based on points. 100 points shall be assigned to the top driver of every round of Heats and a point less for every other driver below that. In order to be prepared for thunderstorms disrupting any of the rounds, drivers need to be prepared that we shall total points for 3 of 3, or 2 of 2, or 1 of 1.
11:30 am Buggies: Main Final shall be 35~60 minutes in duration.
The varying duration here is to be prepared for thunderstorms. If the weather stays good, the 60 minutes duration shall be adopted.
Buggies: All other Finals shall be 10~15 minutes in duration.
Truggies: A Main Final shall be 20~30 mins., while B Main Final shall be 15~20 mins.
All these are proposed times, actual times shall be posted on site.
